Ronnell Kay Gibson
Award-winning Author, Editor, SpeakerOn a quest to love, empower, and challenge through the written word
Hi, I’m Ronnell. I want you to know that you matter. That your life has purpose. And that Jesus is delighted by you.
Discovering The SuperHero in All of Us
This is at the heart of Ronnell’s mission, as well as to love, empower, and challenge through the written word. As a mom of two college students, a youth leader, and YA writer, she knows how today’s youth are craving real, honest relationships. Yet, that goes for everyone, kids and adults alike. She strives to be positive, encouraging, and a safe landing place for those who need a listening ear.
Writer of flash fiction, devotions, and novels, Ronnell has won multiple awards, including the 2021 Realm Makers Realm Award in Flash Fiction, third place at the 2020 Lakefly Writing Conference, first place in the 2018 OHCWC Blue Seal Award for Middle Grade Fiction, and was a finalist for the 2018 Serious Writer of the Year Award in.
Ronnell graduated from North Central University in Minneapolis, MN with a BA in Youth Ministries. Since then, she’s worked with teens in her local church, as well as speaking to youth in a variety of venues. She also speaks to women’s and writers’ groups and conferences. In 2019, she helped launch Local Writers Read Events in her hometown, where once a month local writers are invited to come and read portions of works they have written to an audience.
You can usually find Ronnell with a coffee in hand and first in line to any superhero movie. She sings loud (and badly) to Broadway music in the car and every night eats a balanced dinner, only so she can get dessert after (macarons and tiramisu are her favorites). She lives in Central Wisconsin with her husband, kids, and two crazy Pomeranian puppies.
